The seasonally adjusted services confidence indicator increased to 97.9 in April (from 97.7 in March). The index by sector improved in Transportation and storage (to 99.8) and in Business services and other services (to 98.2); the indicator worsened instead in Tourism services (to 97.3) and in Information and communication (to 92.5). On a regional basis, confidence declined in the North West (to 95.9) and in the Centre (to 97.5) but improved in the North East (to 97.3) and in the South (to 111.8).<\/p>\n

The seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence indicator increased to 104.2 from 100.8. In particular, the confidence strongly improved in large scale distribution (moving to 105.1 from 95.9), but worsened in small and medium scale distribution (the indicator being equal to 106.5 with respect to 107.7 of the previous month).<\/p>\n
