The results of the flash estimates on extra-EU trade for January 2011 has been disseminated on February 21st.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 In January 2011, compared with the same month of the previous year, trade raised by 25.1% for exports (35.3% for non EU countries and 18.8% for EU area) and by 31.3% (+46.1% for non EU and +18.9% for EU countries) for imports. The trade balance amounts to -6.6 billion Euro (table 1) compared with -4 billion Euro registered in the same month of 2010.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 January 2011 seasonally-adjusted data, compared to December 2010, presented an increase in exports (+4.3%) with a higher performance for extra EU countries (+8.9%) and a lower increase (+0.9%) for EU area. The rise of imports was also intensive (+2.8%), in particular for extra-EU markets (+4.4%) rather than EU countries (+1.4%).
