In August, the consumer confidence registered a more gradual growth, and the indicator rose from 94.2 to 94.5. Looking at the components, the evolution was due to the improved economic, current and future climate indices (from 90.9 to 92.3, from 97.4 to 97.8 and, finally, from 89.8 to 90.2, respectively), while the personal one remained stable at 95.4.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the business confidence climate, the index (IESI, Istat Economic Sentiment Indicator) increased from 95.7 to 96.9.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The manufacturing confidence climate went from 89.7 to 89.9. A <\/strong>significant improvement was observed in <\/strong>expectations on production and assessments on inventories also increased (the balances of the variables moved from 4.5 to 9.6 and from 2.8 to 3.8, respectively). Lastly, respondents gave less favorable opinions on current order books (the related balance fell back from -17.1 to -20.4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The construction confidence climate rose from 96.8 to 102.9. The increase was due to a more optimistic outlook regarding both employment expectations and order books assessments (the balances for the variables increased from 2.8 to 10.0 and from -9.0 to -4.0, respectively).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The market service confidence climate moved up from 98.2 to 99.5. The improvement was driven by all the variables composing the index: the balance of expectations on order books rose from 5.4 to 8.0, while the balances related on both current order books and business activity increased from 3.0 to 3.7 and from 6.0 to 7.0, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The retail trade confidence climate increased marginally, passing from 106.5 to 106.6. Particularly, compared to the previous month, the opinions on the volume of current business activity worsened again, while expectations on future sales remained highly positive (the related balances varied from 16.8 to 16.4 and from 31.7 to 33.2, respectively).
