However, the breakdown by<strong> <\/strong>components revealed a mixed picture: both the economic climate and the future one improved (from 86.2 to 87.6 and from 87.2 to 87.4, respectively), while the personal climate and the current one worsened (the former from 96.0 to 94.2 and the latter from 98.0 to 96.2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the business confidence climate, the index (IESI, Istat Economic Sentiment Indicator) rose from 94.2 to 95.2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The manufacturing confidence climate increased from 87.9 to 88.4. Balances regarding assessments on order books and inventories decreased <strong>(<\/strong>from -18.6 to -19.7 and from 3.0 to 1.3 respectively); while expectations on production level sent positive signals (the related balance rose from 0.7 to 1.5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction confidence index rose from 99.4 to 101.7. A more optimistic view was observed in expectations regarding employment, while opinions on current orders also improved (the balances of these variables moved from 3.7 to 6.5 and from -4.8 to -2.8, respectively).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The market services confidence climate improved from 96.8 to 97.2. Firms reported more positive expectations regarding order books (the related balance rose from 4.4 to 7.4), but they expressed weaker assessments on both order books and current business trend (the respective balances declined from 1.6 to 0.7 and from 4.1 to 3.1, respectively).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The retail trade confidence climate increased significantly from 101.3 to 105.5. Respondents expressed greater satisfaction with the volume of their current business activity and provided more optimistic expectations regarding future sales (the balances of the variables moved from 13.6 to 23.6 and from 16.6 to 17.8, respectively).
