In 2024 GDP at current prices grew by 2.7% (to 2,199,619 million euro) compared with the previous year. The chained volume measure of GDP increased by 0.7%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gross fixed capital formation rose in volume by 0.5%, final consumption expenditure by 0.6% and imports of goods and services decreased by 0.4%. Export remained unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
National demand (excluding changes in inventories) has contributed to GDP growth by 0.6 percentage points. The contributions of changes in net exports was positive by 0.1 percentage points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Value added in volume increased in agriculture, forestry and fishing (+2.0%), construction (+1.1%) and services activities (+0.8%), while it was unchanged in mining and quarrying, manufacturing and other industrial activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
General Government net borrowing was -73,937 million euro: -3.4% of GDP in 2024 (-7.2% in 2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
