Only the phases Design, Collect, Process, Analyse, i.e., phases for which methods and tools are currently available, are taken into account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PHASES pages contain the most important information about the sub-processes within the selected phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Methods and tools are grouped by sub-processes. Methods and tools relevant to more than one sub-process are attributed to the prevailing sub-process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The METHODS pages contain lists of documents that describe statistical methods. The documents are European Statistical System standards or methodological manuals, publications and internal reports drawn up by Istat researchers, also in collaborations with external esperts. For a given sub-process, the documents are listed in reverse chronological order (newest to oldest) and are available in PDF format or by linking to external sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TOOLS pages contain lists of generalized IT tools that implement statistical methods. For a given sub-process, the tools are listed in alphabetical order. For each tool a general description showing the functions implemented is provided together with an information sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tools developed by Istat can be&nbsp;<strong>downloaded&nbsp;<\/strong>for free. How to find the tools not owned by Istat is also shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Latest updates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/classifications-and-tools\/methods-and-software-of-the-statistical-process\/process-phase\/weighting-estimation-and-sampling-error-evaluation\/regenesees\/\">ReGenesees (R evolved Generalised software for sampling estimates and errors in surveys)<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Published the release 2.4 of the full-fledged R software for design-based and model-assisted analysis of complex sample surveys. The new release ensures a safe transition to the \u201cR 4.5.x\u201d series. It also provides new functions to visualize domain estimates along with related confidence intervals. October 3, 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/classifications-and-tools\/methods-and-software-of-the-statistical-process\/analyse-phase\/prepare-draft-outputs\/comic\/\">COMIC<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Published the&nbsp;<strong>release 1.9<\/strong>&nbsp;of the software that computes composite indices, by various aggregation methods, and evaluates their robustness. December&nbsp;21, 2023<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/classifications-and-tools\/methods-and-software-of-the-statistical-process\/process-phase\/weighting-estimation-and-sampling-error-evaluation\/regenesees\/\">ReGenesees (R evolved Generalised software for sampling estimates and errors in surveys)<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Published the&nbsp;<strong>release 2.3<\/strong>&nbsp;of the full-fledged R software for design-based and model-assisted analysis of complex sample surveys. The new release offers simple survey planning tools to estimate sample size requirements and perform power calculations when precision constraints are set on estimates of proportions and means. December&nbsp;13, 2023<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/classifications-and-tools\/methods-and-software-of-the-statistical-process\/design-phase\/sampling-strata\/\">SamplingStrata<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Published the&nbsp;<strong>release 1.5-4<\/strong>&nbsp;of the R software for Optimal stratification of sampling frames for multipurpose sampling surveys.
