The competition is\u00a0addressed\u00a0to school students worldwide. From the 2018-2019 edition it is open to university students (Bachelor\u2019s degree), and from the 2020-2021 edition it is\u00a0also open to lower secondary schools students. Aim is at increasing the awareness of official statistics as a tool to understand everyday reality among young people. The competition takes place every two years.\u00a0 The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/it\/archivio\/245770\">winners<\/a>\u00a0of the national phase were announced on March 10, 2023.\u00a0In July 2023 \u2013 at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isi2023.org\/conferences\/ottawa-2023\/\">64th International Statistical Institute Conference<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the winners of the international competition were announced.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/archivio\/287054\">Two Italian teams<\/a>\u00a0reached the podium: the winning team of the national edition for lower secondary schools and the winning team for upper secondary schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scuola.censimentigiornodopogiorno.it\/\">The Permanent Census on school desk<\/a>. An initiative promoted by Istat in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, with the aim of explaining to the younger generations what censuses are and their usefulness and to raise awareness of the importance of statistics to read and understand reality. Primary school and lower secondary school pupils are called to participate in a training course and a contest, divided into a statistical competition, \u201cCensigare\u201d, and a competition of ideas, focused on the theme \u201cCensus and territory\u201d. Each class ends the activities with the realization of a creative project that describes their territory through the use of statistical data. The&nbsp;<strong>fourth edition<\/strong>&nbsp;started in October 2022 and ended on May 31, 2023. The competition takes place annually. From 2018 the Olympics are the national phase of the\u00a0European Statistics Competition.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BmpGRMNN4-s\">The \u20183VIS\u2019 team<\/a>\u00a0from the \u2018Riccati-Luzzatti\u2019 Institute in Treviso ranked second for the 14-16 year old group in the 2023 edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\r\n\t<section class=\"gblock spacer white-bg  py-0\"  aria-labelledby=\"section-1\"><div class=\"container p-lg-0 block_count_1\" data-blockcount=\"1\"><div class=\"row pb-2\">\t<div class=\"col-12\">\r\n\t\t<div><\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\r\n<section class=\"gblock separatore white-bg  py-0\"  aria-labelledby=\"section-2\"><div class=\"container p-lg-0 block_count_2\" data-blockcount=\"2\"><div class=\"row pb-2\">\r\n<div class=\"col-12\">\r\n\t<div class=\"d-flex justify-content-center\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"divider-horizontal me-3\">&nbsp;<\/div>\r\n\t\t<div class=\"divider-horizontal me-3\">&nbsp;<\/div>\r\n\t\t<div class=\"divider-horizontal\">&nbsp;<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expired competitions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/it\/tredicesima-conferenza\/contest-per-youtubers\">Lost in Istat: telling&nbsp; stories through statistics.<\/a>&nbsp;Contest for youtubers organized by Istat to foster and promote the creation of a trailer for a web series. The series, realized by youtubers, authors, storytellers, show the use of data, figures and statistics in everyday life through a storytelling (Year 2018).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/it\/archivio\/193162\">PlayStat. The statistics that entertains!<\/a>&nbsp;Competition of ideas created by the Italian National Institute of Statistics in collaboration with the Italian Statistical Society, with the aim of stimulating the process of statistical literacy and the promotion of statistical culture through the technique of \u2018gamification\u2019 (Year 2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.losviluppolocalechevorrei.it\/\">The Local Development I would like: equitable and sustainable.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;Contest&nbsp; promoted by Articolo Novantanove (Association of Councillors already CNEL) in partnership with ANP, the National Association executives and high professionalism of the school (Year 2016).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/it\/files\/2012\/08\/BANDO-FACCIAMO-STATISTICA.pdf\">Let\u2019s do statistics!<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;Prize contest for the best work realized by a group of students, a class or a group of classes of the lower secondary school. It is promoted by Istat\/Advanced School for Statistics and Socio-economic Analyses and Giovanni Agnelli Foundation, with the sponsorship of the Bank of Italy (School year 2013-2014).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/it\/archivio\/56376\">Census at school.<\/a>&nbsp;Prize contest addressed to students of all school levels of Campania region with the aim of encouraging the web filling of their family questionnaire for the 15th Census (Year 2012).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/it\/archivio\/53158\">Join the 2011 Census<\/a>. Contest promoted to increase the filling of questionnaires by citizens, most of all via web.
