{"id":13656,"date":"2024-04-30T18:39:18","date_gmt":"2024-04-30T16:39:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/?page_id=13656"},"modified":"2024-07-02T14:40:59","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T12:40:59","slug":"website-accessibility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/other-services\/website-accessibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Website accessibility"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This area is governed by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.camera.it\/parlam\/leggi\/04004l.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Law no. 4\/2004<\/a>&nbsp;(the Stanca Act) which, among other things, requires all public authorities to create accessible websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In compliance with the \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/WCAG\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0<\/a>\u201d &nbsp;the www.istat.it website makes its contents accessible, using the following methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>use of\u00a0<strong>semantic html<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>regular use of equivalent\u00a0<strong>text alternatives<\/strong>\u00a0to describe the function of each graphical element (images);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>regular use of\u00a0<strong>text alternatives<\/strong>\u00a0to describe video contents;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use of \u201c<strong>maps<\/strong>\u201d to describe active areas in clickable images;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use of\u00a0<strong>spoken captions for hypertext links<\/strong>\u00a0that keep their sense even out of the context in which they are found (for example, avoiding \u201cclick here\u201d);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use of\u00a0<strong>style sheets<\/strong>\u00a0to separate contents and presentation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>taking care to make text and graphics comprehensible even when viewed in\u00a0<strong>black and white<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>making sure that titles, lists and page structures are always\u00a0<strong>coherent<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>choosing clear\u00a0<strong>navigation mechanisms<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure that users can find what they are looking for;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>publication, whenever possible, of downloadable documents in\u00a0<strong>non-proprietary<\/strong>\u00a0and editable formats;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inclusion of a text-to-speech\u00a0<strong>spoken summary<\/strong>\u00a0in all pages and documents published, allowing for real-time listening.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the efforts made to guarantee accessibility for all users, we are aware that some pages may still be partly inaccessible.
