{"id":13289,"date":"2023-09-25T14:40:15","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T12:40:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/?page_id=13289"},"modified":"2024-04-26T19:33:27","modified_gmt":"2024-04-26T17:33:27","slug":"open-data","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/data\/open-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Data"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">License<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Data and analysis from the Italian National Institute of Statistics are licensed under a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.istat.it\/en\/legal-notice\/\">Creative Commons License \u2013 Attribution \u2013 3.0<\/a>: they can be copied, distributed, transmitted and freely adapted, even for commercial purposes, provided that the source is acknowledged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which data?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Istat is the public body which contributes most in term of dataset released: it is essentially the largest producer of open data in Italy, as also stated by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dati.gov.it\/\">dati.gov.it<\/a>, a dedicated portal monitoring the state of open data in Italy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All Istat data disseminated through corporate&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/dati.istat.it\/Index.aspx?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">data warehouse I.Stat<\/a>&nbsp;can be downloaded in CSV format,&nbsp;simply managed and reused.&nbsp;In addition to providing human-readable release modes, Istat has prepared an \u201cEnd Point\u201d to allow the machine to machine use of data contained in the corporate data warehouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Open data activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All aspects pertaining to open data and linked open data in Istat are coordinated by a working group, which acts as a reference point both within Istat and in relation with the other institutions and the Net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open data are also included in the multi-year project \u201cStat2015\u201d which represents the overall framework of the methodological, technological, thematic and organizational innovations taken by the National Institute of Statistics in the period 2013-2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the European level, Istat takes part in the Open Data Working Group and the Task Force on Strategic Project on common ESS policies for free access and re-use of data within Eurostat\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the Institute has long been present in conferences and initiatives related to open data. In 2012, for instance, it promoted\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.appsforitaly.org\/en\/\">AppsForItaly<\/a>, the Italian competition on open data.
