To meet the request for detailed statistical information, Istat has developed a system of products, tools and services for researchers:
- Microdata: collection of elementary data, without direct identifiers, related to some statistical surveys
- ADELE Laboratory: The Laboratory for Elementary Data Analysis (ADELE) is a Research data centre accessible by researchers and scholars to carry out statistical analyses on microdata. - Databases and information systems: tools providing detailed data and the possibility to query the handled phenomena.
- System for data quality: the information system on survey quality, devoted to manage metadata describing the production process and its characteristics
- Methods and tools useful for research purposes: description of the methods used for producing statistical information and the generalised software utilised to implement the above mentioned methods.
Moreover, Istat organises and promotes events and scientific meetings devoted both to a specialised and general public.
