The seasonally adjusted confidence indicator in market services increased to 98.5 in January (from 95.8 in December). The improvement in confidence was due to more favourable assessments and expectations on demand. The expectations on the economic situation worsened instead.
At sector level, the index improved in Transportation and storage (to 111.1), in Tourism services (to 105.0) and Information and communication(to 97.8); remained almost unchanged in Business services and other services (to 92.3). On a regional basis, confidence climate grew in all macro-regions.
In the fourth quarter 2010 the share of operators perceiving the existence of factors limiting their business activity decreased to 34%.
