Turnover in other services

Indices of turnover in other services measure the quarterly change recorded in sales, at current prices, by firms belonging to a subset of the entire domain. Since the first quarter of 2009 the indices have been calculated with reference to the base year 2005 using the new Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In the third quarter of 2011, compared with the second quarter, the seasonally adjusted index of turnover increased by 3.0% in air transport, by 0.7% in postal and courier activities, and by 0.3% in water transport. A decrease has been recorded in maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (-0.4%), in information and communication (-0.2%) and wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (-0.1%).

With respect to the same quarter of 2010 the turnover index increased by 7.5% in air transport, by 2.2% in wholesale trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles), by 1.2% in postal and courier activities and  by 1.1% in maintenance and repair of motor vehicles. water transport and Information and communication decreased by 3.6% and by 0.3%.
