Turnover in other services

Indices of turnover in other services measure the quarterly change recorded in sales, at current prices, by firms belonging to a subset of the entire domain. Since the first quarter of 2009 the indices have been calculated with reference to the base year 2005 using the new Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In the first quarter of 2011, compared with the previous quarter, the seasonally adjusted index of turnover increased by 2.7% in Water transport and by 1.5% in Wholesale trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles). A decrease has been recorded in all other sectors: Postal and courier activities (-2.5%), Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (-2.5%), Air transport (-1.3%), and Information and communication (-0.6%).

With respect to the same quarter of 2010 the turnover index increased by 7.3% in Wholesale trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles), by 1.5% in Air transport and by 0.2% in Water transport. Postal and courier activities decreased by 9.8%, Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles by 3.3%, and Information and communication by 1.7%.
