Turnover in services - Q3 2023

The Turnover in services index measures the quarterly evolution of sales by service sector enterprises at current prices. Since the first quarter 2018 indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2015 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of NACE Rev.2).

In the third quarter of 2023 the seasonally adjusted Services turnover index increased by 0.9% compared to the previous quarter. In particular the index increased in Accommodation and food service activities (+1.5%), in Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+1.2%), in Professional, scientific and technical activities (+1.0%) and in Administrative and support service activities (+0.6%). The sector of Transportation and storage registered a null variation and the Information and communication decreased by 0.5%.

In the third quarter of 2023 the Services turnover index increased by 1.6% compared to the same quarter of 2022. In particular, the index increased by 8.5% for Accommodation and food service activities, by 3.7% for Professional, scientific and technical activities, by 2.5% for Information and communication, by 2.4% for Administrative and support service activities, and by 1.3% for Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. The index decreased by 3.2% for Transportation and storage, activities.
