Turnover in services

The Services Turnover Index measures the quarterly change recorded in sales at current prices by enterprises belonging to the domain of services. Starting from the first quarter of 2013 the indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2010 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In the second quarter of 2013 the Services Turnover Index decreases by 2.5%.

Compared to the second quarter of 2012 a decrease is recorded in all sectors:  Information and communication services (-7.1%), Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (-2.3%), Accomodation and food service activities (-1.8%), Transport and Warehousing activities (-0.2%). Within the above sectors increases are recorded in Water transport (+3.3%) and Land transport (+1.3%).

In the second quarter of 2013 the seasonally adjusted index increases in Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+3.9%), Water transport (+0.6%) and Wholesale trade (+0.2%). A decrease is recorded in all the other sectors: Information and communication services (-1.9%), Postal and courier activities (-1.2%) and Air transport (-0.4%).
