Export of Italian regions

Istat presents the breakdown of national exports by Italian Regions[1] for the reference period January- September 2011.

In the third quarter 2011, compared with the second period April-June 2011, in seasonally-adjusted terms, export grows for all areas: Centre +6.7%, North-West +3.1%, North-East +1.9% and South and Islands +1.5%.

In the first nine months in 2011, compared with the same period in 2010, exports increase for all territorial divisions[2]: Islands +16.7%, Centre +13.7, North-West +13.4%, North-East +13% and South +12.9%.

In the period January-September 2011, compared with the same period in 2010, more relevant increases, according to their contribution to total export growth, were recorded for Emilia-Romagna (+14.3%), Toscana (+13.9%) and Piemonte (+13.6%). Significant increases occurred also for Sicilia (+22.6%), Puglia (+20.4%), Liguria (+18.6%), Abruzzo (+17%) and Lazio (+15.1%).
