Gross wages and labour cost

Since the first quarter 2009 the gross wages and labour cost indicators are calculated with reference to the base year 2005 using the new Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In the third quarter 2011 the seasonally adjusted index of gross wages per full time equivalent (fte) increased by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter (+0.3% in industry and 0.0% in services). The unadjusted index rose by 1.4% compared to the third quarter 2010 (+2.2% in industry and +0.7% in services).
