Large firms labour indicators

Labour indicators for large firms (enterprises with 500 employees and more) are calculated with reference to the base year 2005 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace rev. 2).

In July 2011 the seasonally adjusted employment index in large firms decreased by 0.1% compared with June 2011 (-0.2% in industry and unchanged in services); net of workers in cassa integrazione guadagni (Cig = short-time working allowance) it decreased by 0.5% (-0.7% in industry and -0.2% in services). The percentage change of the average of the last three month compared to the previous three month was -0.3% gross of Cig and -0.4% net of Cig

The unadjusted employment index  in large firms decreased by 0.7% compared with July 2010 (-0.7% net of Cig); the percentage change in the first seven months of 2011 with respect to same period of 2010 was -0.6% (-0.4% net of Cig).

In July 2011 the seasonally adjusted index of gross average earnings per hours worked was unchanged with respect to the previous month (-1.3% in industry and +0.8% in services). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was +0.6% (+0.5% both in industry and in services).

The unadjusted index of gross average earnings per hours worked increased by 4.1% compared with July 2010 (+5.8% in industry and +3.0% in services). The percentage change in the first seven months of 2011 with respect to the same period of 2010 was +2.0% (+4.0% in industry and +0.8% in services).
