Foreign trade with non-EU countries

Istat presents preliminary data on Italy’s foreign trade with non-EU countries in November 2017. The results of the survey on total foreign trade in November 2017 will be disseminated on coming 16 January.
In November 2017 exports to non-EU countries increased by 12.9% and imports increased by 11.6% compared with the same month of the previous year. The trade balance showed a surplus of 4,602 million euro compared with a 3,937 million euro surplus in the same month of 2016.

In November 2017, in seasonally-adjusted terms, exports increased by 6.7% and imports increased by 4.5% compared with October 2017. Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data showed a 4.6% increased in outgoing flows and a 0.3% increased in incoming flows in comparison with the previous three months.

In the period January-November 2017 exports to non-EU countries increased by 8.9% and imports increased by 11.9% compared with the same period of 2016.
The trade balance registered a surplus of 32,950 million euro compared to the surplus of 33,878 million euro in the same period of 2016. Excluding energy, the trade balance presented a surplus of 62,516 million euro (Table 3) compared with a 57,273 million euro surplus in January-November 2016.
