Production in the construction sector and construction costs

In April 2017 the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction compared with the previous month decreased by 4.1%. In the quarter Feb-Apr 2017 the index increased by 0.9% with respect to the previous quarter.

The calendar adjusted index of production in construction sector decreased by 4.6% compared with the same month of the previous year (calendar working days being 18 vs 20 in April 2016). In the period January-April 2017 the index decreased by 1.2% in comparison with the same period of 2016.

In April 2017 the unadjusted index of production in the construction sector decreased by 11.0% compared with April 2016. The average index of the first four months of 2017 was 1.6% lower in comparison with the same period of 2016.

In April 2017 the cost index for road construction with tunnel section remained unchanged compared with the previous month and incresad by 0.8% compared with April 2016; the cost index for road construction without tunnel increased by 0.1% compared with the previous month and by 1.0% compared with the same month of the previous year.

Since January 2013 all the cost indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2010.
