Turnover in services

The Services Turnover Index measures the quarterly change recorded in sales at current prices by enterprises belonging to the domain of services. Starting from the first quarter of 2013 the indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2010 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In the second quarter of 2015 the Services Turnover Index increased by 2.9% compared to the second quarter of 2014. In particular, the index increased by 3.8% for Wholesale trade, trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, by 2.9 for Accommodation and food service activities, by 2.1%  for Transport, Warehousing and support activities, by 1.4% for Administrative and support service activities, by 1.1% for Professional, scientific and technical activities and by 0.2% for Information and communication.

In the second quarter of 2015 the seasonally adjusted Services Turnover Index increased by 1.3% compared to the previous quarter. In particular, the index increases in Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+2.7%), in Air transport (+1.2%), Wholesale trade (+0.8%) and in Postal and courier activities (+0.4%). A decrease is recorded in Information and communication services (-0.3%). For Water transport the change is equal to 0.
