The import price index measures the evolution of prices for industrial goods bought by Italian industrial and commercial enterprises, both in the euro zone and the non-euro zone. Since January 2010 indices are compiled in the reference base 2010.
In December 2013 the total import price index rose by 0.2 with respect to the previous month (respectively, -0.1 and + 0.4 for the euro and the non-euro zone); the total twelve-month rate of change decreased by 2.9 (respectively -2.1 and -3.5 for the euro and the non-euro zone).
The quarterly rate of change (last three months of 2013 on last three months of 2012) decreased by 2.3 for the total index, by 1.6 and 3.1 respectively for the euro and non-euro zone.
