Starting from this bulletin, Indices of Production in Construction are disseminated with the new reference base year 2021=100. Moreover, the method of estimating the IPC has been completely revised, following the guidelines outlined in the EBS methodological manual for compiling the monthly index of production in construction – 2021 edition. Detailed information regarding the methodological aspects related to the rebasing procedures and the new methodology is provided in the Information Note (in Italian only).
In January 2024, estimates for construction output increased in the month-on-month series, rising by 3.7%.
In the three month to January, the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction grew by 4.9% when compared with the previous three-month period.
Year on year, the unadjusted index was up 18.8% and the calendar adjusted index increased by 14.8% (calendar working days being 22 versus 21 in January 2023).
